These pages provide more detailed information regarding those particular brands of dishwasher and available spares. Also on the left, you will find links to out advice pages describing typical dishwasher problems and some suggestions on how to get started fixing them.

Although dishwashers may at first appear like complicated pieces of kit, they are in fact remarkably simple in how they operate, and their basic
design has not changed greatly in many years.

When you dishwasher does go wrong, it is tempting to contact a service engineer to fix the problem. This is usually very expensive (and even under warranty you can often end up paying some of the costs), so much so that actually replacing the whole dishwasher could be a more viable option!

The good news is that the vast majority of dishwasher malfunctions can be easily repaired by yourself - by replacing a damaged component with a spare part, or often just by practising good maintenance such as unblocking the various filters and ensuring the water inlets and drainage are functioning optimally.
